Jaipur | Anshika + Gautam, Taj Devi Ratn

A baby sister who won our hearts

Late April sun wrapped itself tightly around Jaipur. Red sandstone walls radiated warmth, bougainvillea bloomed in unapologetic pink, and guests arrived armed with tiny battery operated fans, prepared but undeterred. Tikku, the family dog, trotting confidently between silk lehengas and tailored sherwanis, entirely at home.

At Taj Devi Ratn, every arch and terrace caught the light beautifully. The setting promised scale. Yet this destination wedding in Jaipur felt intimate from the very first ritual.

Anshika and Gautam’s wedding was not our first celebration with the family. Just months earlier, we had photographed Anshika’s elder brother Mehul’s wedding to Maneet in Jim Corbett. We remember how naturally Maneet stepped into the rhythm of the family, how instinctively Mehul looked out for Anshika even then. Small gestures, adjusting her dupatta, checking if she had eaten, teasing her gently. So returning for Anshika and Gautam’s wedding felt like picking up a story mid-sentence.

Anshika carries baby sister energy so effortlessly. Sweet, bubbly, affectionate, a presence that makes people instinctively soften. Sweet, expressive, quick to smile. Gautam balances her with quiet composure. Quiet. Observant. Measured in speech, steady in stance. He observes, absorbs, speaks with intention.

The heat was real. Makeup artists worked with precision, guests slipped into shaded corridors between ceremonies, water glasses never stayed full for long. Yet discomfort never overtook the atmosphere. Support did.

Continuity in Tears

Anshika’s haldi began softly and then shifted. Mehul tried to remain composed. He failed within minutes. Tears surfaced quickly. Years of shared childhood rising all at once.

Beside him stood Maneet, steady and attentive, one hand resting at his back. Watching them felt like witnessing the expansion of family in real time. The brother who once stood at the centre now stood slightly aside, allowing space, yet still fiercely protective.

Gautam’s haldi brought an entirely different tempo. Friends surrounded him with laughter, beer poured freely, white fabric surrendered to chaos. For a man so composed, it was beautiful to see him surrender to the chaos.

Gold Against Pink

As the sun dipped, Anshika stepped into golden hour at Taj Devi Ratn, framed by blooming bougainvillea. The light was bold. It carved shadows and set the sandstone aglow. And in that fierce glow, she looked both delicate and unshakeable.

Tikku wandered into more than a few frames, tail wagging, occasionally pausing to supervise. In the midst of a luxury wedding, his presence felt . A reminder that grandeur and home can coexist.

A Pause Before Letting Go

Before the ceremony, Anshika turned toward her father.

A smile first. Then eyes glistening. His arms opened instinctively. The embrace lingered, protective and quiet. For a brief moment, Taj Devi Ratn felt hushed despite the scale of the celebration.

Later, during her speech, Anshika said the line that seemed to gather the entire journey into one breath.

“Gautam, bikhrenge nahi toh nikhrenge kaise?” If we do not scatter, how will we bloom?

This destination wedding in Jaipur carried history. There had been challenges that demanded patience and strength. Standing together, Gautam’s calm presence and Anshika’s openness felt refined by everything they had navigated.

Grandeur, Held by Family

After Taj Devi Ratn frames a luxury wedding with sweeping views of the Aravallis and sandstone passages that glow at dusk. The architecture elevates every frame. Yet what defined this celebration was not design.

It was loyalty.

Friends who showed up without hesitation. Parents who steadied trembling hands. Mehul and Maneet, now slightly further along in their own journey, holding space with quiet maturity. Tikku weaving between guests during the vidaai, unaware of the emotional weight in the air.

At the vidaai, tears were unrestrained. Architecture faded into the background. What remained were embraces that tightened before loosening.

When we think back on this destination wedding in Jaipur, we remember the heat and the golden light. But more than that, we remember resilience, love, family. The way family closed ranks. The way Gautam remained steady. The way Anshika chose vulnerability over composure.

Thank you for making us a part of your beautiful journey. Cheers to your love and our baby sister, Anshi! We love you to bits. Huge shoutout to The Bake House (Anshi, open a bakery in Delhi soon please; many bombolinis need to be eaten!
