Jim Corbett | Maneet + Mehul

A heartwarming Sikh wedding, filled with emotion, unexpected fire, and love.

With Fire, Laughter and Love

As different as chalk and cheese, but as compatible as pen and paper. That’s Mehul and Maneet.

Maneet’s trip to India was supposed to be a brief stop between Canada and Australia. But then she met Mehul. And the itinerary changed entirely.

Warmth That Lasts

We first photographed Mehul in 2019, at a wedding at Grand Hyatt Goa. He was barely 20, sharp, observant, the kind of person who fills a room without trying. Years later, here we were at his own wedding. The warmth was exactly as we remembered.

A Sacred Gurudwara Ceremony

Inside the gurudwara in Ramnagar, the shabads were gentle and the rituals, eternal. No elaborate sets, no theatrical lighting. Just silk, flowers, and a lot of quiet emotion. Maneet’s mother cried softly. Anshika, Mehul’s sister, looked away for a moment when it got to be too much. And at the centre of it all, Mehul and Maneet, still and smiling.

When the Aisle Caught Fire

During the jai mala, cold pyros went off and for one brief moment, the pampas grass caught. Flickered, danced, and disappeared before anyone could move. Nobody hurt, nothing damaged — and Mehul and Maneet, entirely absorbed in each other, never even noticed. Their friends, however, did. “Bhaai ne aag laga di!” someone shouted.

Quiet Tenderness

After the ceremonies, away from the crowd, Mehul knelt down and put a bandaid on Maneet’s feet where her juttis had left marks. No audience, no drama. Just love and affection.

Punjabi Love: Loud, Joyful, Unfiltered

Anshika and Gautam brought their own warmth and lightness to the weekend. As always at a Punjabi wedding, we left feeling less like photographers and more like family.

Mehul and Maneet, thank you for your trust. Pammi Di and Aakash Sir, your kindness stayed with us long after we left. And to The Bake House — the bombolonis were worth every kilometre.

If you are planning a destination wedding in Jim Corbett and would like to explore working together, we would love to hear from you.
