A wedding that unfolded like a beautiful landscape at Riverview Retreat
A Jim Corbett Wedding Beside the Kosi River
There is something about Jim Corbett that immediately slows the world down. Maybe it is the forests stretching endlessly in every direction. Maybe it is the Kosi River moving past smooth stones with a quiet, steady rhythm. Or maybe it is simply the feeling that time behaves a little differently here.

When we arrived at Riverview Retreat for Ruchir and Shambhavi’s wedding, that calm was the first thing we noticed. The sound of laughter drifting through the property, conversations lingering a little longer, people settling into the moment rather than rushing through it.
It felt like the right beginning for these two.

Ruchir carries a presence that feels grounded almost instantly. Relaxed, steady, someone who moves through the day without hurry. Shambhavi brings a different kind of depth. As an oncologist, her life clearly carries weight and purpose, but around Ruchir there is an ease that softens everything.
Together they felt balanced. Unrushed.
A Poolside Haldi at Riverview Retreat
The celebrations began with a haldi by the pool, sunlight dancing across the water and filling the courtyard with warmth. Music drifting through the air, laughter, people leaning into the joy of the moment.

Some weddings are remembered for one defining moment. This one felt different. The story was the flow itself, the quiet rhythm of the day moving from one celebration to the next.
Behind the scenes there was the usual timing shuffle, a little chaos that lives backstage at most weddings, but out in the open it never showed. The mood remained easy, generous, light.

Shambhavi’s Bridal Portraits by the River
Across the celebrations, Shambhavi’s outfits carried a sense of grace that naturally drew attention. Not loud, not theatrical. Just beautifully considered.

Her bridal look, designed by Torani, felt especially striking. There are moments when a bride steps into her wedding attire and something simply aligns. The colours, the textures, the flow.
This was one of those moments.

Before the ceremony began we found a quiet pocket near the river. The afternoon had been bright, the sun strong in the way daytime weddings often are. But just before the pheras there was a brief shift.
The light softened.

Standing beside the Kosi River with the forest rising behind her, Shambhavi’s bridal portraits took on an almost dreamlike quality.

A Forest Ceremony at a Jim Corbett Wedding
The ceremony unfolded beside the riverbank, guests gathered close as the forest formed a natural wall of green behind the mandap. The Kosi flowed nearby, steady and grounding, as Ruchir and Shambhavi moved through their pheras.

Daytime light can be direct, a little unfiltered. Here it simply became part of the atmosphere.
By the time the ceremony came to a close, the feeling that lingered was simple. Beauty that comes from place, from people, from the way a wedding day unfolds when everyone chooses presence.

Not just the forests or the river, but the days themselves were a landscape of moments, of calm laughter, of rituals unfolding beside water and trees.
